Alex Tansky, RJE, Director of Education

Alex is delighted to have found a professional and spiritual home at The Village Temple, where he has been the educator for twelve years. In 2004, he received his Master's degree in Religious Education from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. He is a graduate of the JTS/HUC Leadership Institute for Congregational School Educators and a member of the Reform movement’s Association of Reform Jewish Educators. A native of Ukraine, Alex was responsible for Jewish educational programming at the Israeli Culture Center, where he managed operations, curriculum development and staff for five religious schools. Anita Hollander, Children’s Choir Director and Soloist

This marvelous performer and teacher is one of the Village Temple’s treasures. We love Anita for the joy and energy she brings to services with our fabulous Children’s Choir and her brilliant productions of the annual Village Temple Purim Spiel. She has touched us with her cabaret renditions of ancient prayers and made us laugh and cry with her one woman show, Still Standing, which in addition to being performed at the Village Temple has been seen by audiences at the Kennedy Center, the White House, Off-Broadway and in theatres around the country. Daughter of a cantor, Anita is at home with liturgical music and popular song. Her list of theatrical roles goes on and on, from Grizabella in CATS, Emma Goldman in Ragtime, Sister Hubert in Nunsense and Golde in Fiddler on the Roof. In addition to her many TV roles, she has been a voice of enlightenment about disability, through her work in theaters and schools and her inspiring work on behalf of the American Cancer Society.
